Substance Painter Misaligned Brush Stroke Direction

I need help figuring out an issue that has popped up a few times now.

If I change the jitter options for brush strokes to make them more random, then change them back, the brush strokes appear perpendicular to the direction I am drawing. I have made sure every option is set back to zero, and tried changing the alignment, switching Follow Path off and on, and the angle of the brush but none have made a difference.

Does anyone know a reason this is happening, or a possible solution?
