Been there and Alchemist looks really interesting! Unfortunately they wouldn't say any more about it.

very intriguing, it seems to be Substance answer to Quixels mixer. At least thats what it seems to resemble

supposedly it is scriptable and extensible via C++. And as part of Substance's wider eco-system it should be much more powerful. There was also talk about machine learning - which seems to target upcoming competitors like Artomatix.

I'm a big fan of Allegorithmic, I love Designer and Painter but anytime a developer says "its scriptable and extensible via C++" I have to groan a little because it usually means that it's shipping as the "min viable product" and hopefully someone in the community will pick up the torch and do a lot of work to add features. Its not as bad as "early access" is to gamers but it isn't a good sign.

I'm not saying that is the case here, but usually when i hear that line, I cringe. 

Fingers crossed, hoping for the best.
