Hi everyone,
I just had a quick question regarding character modeling for games (on zbrush). For models used for games such as in EA's UFC and Ubisoft's Tom Clancy series (Rainbowsix siege, the division, etc.) how many polys do the models have? I heard that it is crucial for character artists working on projects like this to minimize the poly count for smooth gameplay. Also, I am aware the character artists create high poly models as well, how many polys do the high res models have?

but it doesnt matter how many polies the highpoly model has, it's as much as is needed and the machine can handle.
If you are able to create a good char with 40k poly you will be able to do a char with 100k.
You have to create an animateable char. It wont help that much if you go poly crazy if the animation team cant work with your data.
Work clean, use as much poly as "needed".
If you are a beginner just aim lower and finish the char.
Its more important to finish the char than have a 100k char in the end.
