you need to brush up on a few more fundamentals. don't take shortcuts. you are jumping into trying concept far too early....you need to learn a lot more before you head into that direction, otherwise you will stunt your learning you are still lacking some very fundamental training. do lots more material studies & still life studies, figure drawing, and painting from observation.
i really like marco bucci's youtube channel cuz its a really short dive into fundamentals and he's helped me out a lot. proko sometimes makes good stuff about art fundamentals but hes mostly anatomy focused
