Exporting to .aed file from 3DS Max

Hello. Someone asked me to model something and export it as a .aed file. Is it possible with 3DS Max? and i don't know what .aed is and how to do it.

Do you mean *.dae? It´s also called COLLADA.

Might be easier to just ask them what they're able to import instead - seems that Alphacam Wire EDM can import DXF, for example.
