Hello everyone!
After finishing college, I decided to try and get a few passion projects into my portfolio and realized I needed more environments in my portfolio. One of the environments I wanted to do was some sort of bar/club in Vegas. Then I remembered my trip to Las Vegas 6 years ago for my good friend's birthday and how much fun I had at Tao Beach. It was so lively and energetic that I wanted to replicate the place.
Midway through starting the project, I realized that recreating this dayclub was a lot more ambitious than I expected for my skill level and I wanted something presentable in a portfolio so I broke it down and decided to just start with the Grand Cabana area.
Here is a rough block-in for the overall cabana:
Below are some of the assets I made for the Grand Cabana:
I had a very hard time cleaning out the n-gons, but for some reason, Substance Painter keeps triangulating this object even after I quadded everything up. Is this normal or does it mean there is something wrong with my model?
An asset that went through the Substance Painter pipeline. I'm having a very hard time getting the light scratches on the countertop surface. Every time I use the scratch alpha, it keeps making the surface look like it's dented, no matter how small or how light I paint the scratches.
