This is my third prop from the Wild West prop render competition found here, http://https//www.artstation.com/artwork/9YQ3o

It started off with an entirely different concept based upon organic integration based upon myths such as the Basket Ogress, which you can see in the WIP and updates in the challenge. But due to time constraints I was forced to cut it short and turn it into a fishing canoe in presentation alone

I quite like a few of the techniques for presentation, specifically adding one of the bushes in my other presentations and submerging under the water. Making a surprisingly great looking effect which took less than 5 mins including the fish in Forest pack

Decent start!

Needs a specular/roughness map.  Everything looks flat in terms of the reflection.

Yeah it doesnt look the best, there is a roughness and ref gloss channel but the historical references used force texturing to a minimum when it comes to the majority of the boat. Even the paint is just a stain which essentially takes on the roughness of the wood

If I wasnt trying to stay historically accurate when making it I would of made it significantly more vibrant similar to the fish (which were essentially given a metallic undertone as I was unsure of how to get that pearly finish of fish scales otherwise)
