Hello,

So this is my first real WIP on polygon.  Here are my goals.

  • Post my WIP in the community. Grow from all the feedback & hopefully help someone else out too.
  • Learn more environment art related techniques and tricks
  • Learn Substance Designer
  • Combine stylized models with realistic materials in a visually pleasing way
  • Get better at making rock formations
  • If I have enough time (big if) make it a playable level you can walk around in.
  • Last but not least, have fun!

So another thing I should mention.  I may work on the next Artstation challenge so if that happens I will put this project on hold and then come back to it afterwards.

Here is the main reference I'm using for this scene.  I'm a big fan of the Warhammer universe and the amazing art it has produced over the years.

Starting the very rough block-out in Unreal.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate any and all feedback.

I spent all of last week learning Substance Designer.  I've used world machine a bit so that helped in making Designer a little easier to understand.

I'm going for realistic materials on stylized meshes.
They all need some work but I'm still learning Designer so I'll come back to them more later.  All feedback is much appreciated!
    1. Mossy Roof shingles (trying to match the reference house above, everything but moss is procedural)
    2. Stone Wall (100% procedural)
    3. Wood Beams (trying to get an old hand hewn beam look, 100% procedural)
