Hiya! Been working on a 3D Scene for a game these days. It's interesting to try translating a 2D watercolor/illustrative Style to 3D! Really fun. Here is a test scene for it! model
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback! I'm on a very tight deadline, so I will post some more breakdowns here soon. Last week I worked on a waterfall for this place with some UV animation and small particle effects. Here is the result!
Thanks a lot Christoph! I made a particle effect inside Unity, which scales the foam texture (a small splatter/watercolor looking 128x128 texture) up and down very fast! It took some experimenting but its mostly to do with Size over lifetime and velocity
Looks like a Mary Blair paiting. I suppose she was your main inspiration for this?
I actually tried to convey my watercolor techniques from the analog world into 3D and was inspired by children book illustrations like Moomin etc. and my own explorations with the medium You're not the first person to point this reference out though, after seeing her work, I can definitely see it! Really nice source of inspiration.
Now that the Project is over, I can start posting some more assets of it. Here are some houses I made inspired by bird houses. I tried to make them fit with the rest of the environment, so they don't feel out of place compared to the other assets. It took some playing around with the colors and textures but in the end, it worked out!

Thank you! Yeah they were the most fun to do, saves me time creating foliage cards too!
