Howdy Folks,
Wanted to share a simple idea on how to make cylinders/tubes etc that have holes through out their model without ending up with smoothing distortions. This is using the conform tool in Max but there are similar tools in other packages as well. Ive attached an FBX file with the process broken down for anyone interested. FBX format here > (

As always there are a million ways to model but I wanted to share this real quick so that it may be one more tool in the toolbox for others as well.
