I have been wondering how people duplicate a long a line with the same space between a line. I think it is do with duplicate specials but I can't figure it out. I have made a representation of what happens after it is done.
1. Array Tool (2d Array) 2. Spacing Tool (This can be alone a spline you choose) 3. Hold shift then drag the object in 3D space *(Click on the axis of the transform gizmo X Y or Z to start your drag for a straight line) *(In the popup window choose how many clones you would like to create) 4.Setup a grid to the distance you want seperation and use snap to grid
I am using Maya 2016 edition and I finally just figured out how it was done. It was with duplicate special and was quite easy I just didn't look at it hard enough. Thank you for responses they were helpful

In Max, you can use "array".
1. Array Tool (2d Array)
2. Spacing Tool (This can be alone a spline you choose)
3. Hold shift then drag the object in 3D space
*(Click on the axis of the transform gizmo X Y or Z to start your drag for a straight line)
*(In the popup window choose how many clones you would like to create)
4.Setup a grid to the distance you want seperation and use snap to grid
These are some that come to mind.
