Hi. I'm just curious about applying for a job as an artist. I'm primarily thinking about game entertainment/movie artist jobs, both 3d and 2d.
Personally i'm a 3d artist focus on modeling and environments, also a 2d illustrator/concept artist.
I know a few years back it was a must to have a website portfolio, and your body of work was everything.
But from what I hear artstation is so popular that it is almost less professional to show your personal website than your artstation page?
Is this true? Should I not worry about my site and just polish my artstation page?
Also, does it help or hurt to have a super clean modern minimalist site with just your images.
or is it vitally important to have a little text synopsis attached to each images describing your work on it?
thanks !
