So I'm still a bit new to blender but been modeling for about a year now and i gots a question how would some of you folks go about connecting this model together? Any advice would work and if you do want to draw on the picture to help thats fine
When your'e high poly modeling like this, you don't need to model it all with a contiguous model.
You can just "block in" the silhouette using disconnected planes.
As in, just place planes where you know there's element separation to both nail the silhouette and elements of the object. You can jsut connect them later or add thickness to them later when you're ready.
There are a LOT of tutorials that show how they massage out a teapot from a single box, but you don't need to do that all the time, and frankly, it's not the best method for a lot of complicated geo. Sometimes, you could just make teh spout spearate from the body from the lid from the lid handle from the handle, and then connect it all later once you have the shapes of those sub-elements comfortably set.
Or don't connect them back together lol. With that weapon I probably wouldn't piece them back together, unless the low poly required it. I thought the same way when I started modeling and you end up with all sorts of wonky geometry that you have to figure out. Do you have a front view or another shot of the weapon? That helps immensely with figuring out your parts.

Does that make sense?

If you want to commit to this, though, make it as sexy as possible
