So I am trying to pan a texture across a mesh in Maya 2016 for use in Sketchfab. I have tried keying the UV offsets in the place2dTexture node which looks great in Maya but there are no keys in the timeline. When I import my model into Sketchfab there are no animations detected and the texture does not pan. I have also tried moving and keying my UV points with the UV editor and timeline but the error tells me that there are no keyable attributes. I have also tried changing my set key options in the options box. Is there a way to achieve my desired result?

they don't support it i guess
people get around it with flipbooking the mesh IIRC

or maybe blendshape/morph target trickery
