xNormal Not Recognising mikktspace Plugin

I have installed the latest version of xNormal but when I try to start it I get the error message "Seems there are no tangent-basis calculator plug-ins present in the xNormal's plug-in folder...". However the default Mikktspace plugin IS in the plugin folder and just doesn't seem to be recognised. I've tried reinstalling with no luck. Has anyone else had this issue?
