Hello artists!
I am trying to find a gift for my friend, who is a digital (and traditional) artist that is now learning 3D animation. He is mostly interested in drawing animations. Budget $250.
Any suggestion would be great! What would you like to get as a gift?
He does already have wacom tablet.

Or one of these http://www.anatomytools.com/anatomy-c5.php
Or something similar.
Just ask him, exactly how you asked us.
Or, go for something smaller and that can be consumed : quality oil paints, paint medium, and so on. https://genevafineart.com/
I would still like to choose the gift myself, I know very well what he'd like, just can't find any options to choose from
It's for my boyfriend actually, didn't want him to see the post and suspect something
Figures: Small Scale anatomy figures and Video game figures are always nice
Anything ergonomic. Ive given all of my artist friends ergonomic stuff. Chairs, Drawing tools, massagers etc The pain from arting can and will burn you out quicker. Comfort is key.
Subscriptions for Software and study material are great too.
Ask him what he wants sometimes fulfilling a need can be better than a surprise toy. My mom continues to buy me expensive games instead of something Id love to have LIKE A 3D PRINTER!

It's actually my boyfriend, so I want to surprise him ;D
lol yeah, cash
if what they're offering there is still printed like my 1995 edition then it's a proper coffee table book, nothing cheap looking about it and should make for a fine gift.
IMHO...the best gift for a hard working creative is really something totally unrelated artistically, so yeah @Geezus comment is right on track
Now dependant upon your location alternatives alongside pricing may vary, anyhow here's my selection:

EDIT:
Ahem...there seems to be an alcoholic connection for a few of the activities on offer, which is not I hasten to add an unflattering indictment upon my fellow countrymen
So it is mostly things I wouldn't have gotten myself, most of the things he needs for his 3D he no doubt has, unless he has mentioned something specific like a piece of software he would really like or a multibutton mouse/keyboard etc, I would go with something he would like directly not related to his work.
Oh man something ergonomic would be awesome. I think when we get caught up in things, we forget to make sure our workstation is as ergonomic as possible and then months/years down the road, we end up with physical issues that could have been easily avoided with a small investment.
$250 can easily buy a couple of good things - an ergonomic mouse and chair, some exercise things for your hands, etc. You could sit down with him and go over the issues he may already be having and pick out things that would help together.
Feeling comfortable -> super happy friend -> better art -> super duper happy friend.

here's example of what i mean, you can also get more expensive ones if you look around.
It's great reference since you can basically use it to pose character, then get your camera and see how it looks under different angles and so on for references (which aren't always easy to get)
That's brilliant..
What are your favourite or most valuable intermediate level hard surface/environment/prop tutorials for ZBrush and/or Substance Painter (with modeling done in Modo) for output to Marmoset Viewer or UE4?
Just a teeny difference of preference in core hardsurface modelling app coupled with aesthetic genre.
Basically a gift too self, really. Namely Tim Bergholz's yummy Mech (Complete Edition) series, practically a steal at USD$39
