budget gpu for substance painter

Is an rx 550 enough to use substance painter? cause that is the only card i can afford and the rx 560 and gtx 1050 have all been inflated in price.
Has anyone here have experience using substance painter with a entry level gpu?

You'll struggle with a lower end card once files get complex. A 1070 is about the minimum for working smoothly at 2k with a decent amount of layers.

From what I can tell older higher end *70/*80 cards are generally better bets than newer  lower end ones - unfortunately what makes for a good crypto mining card, also makes for a good substance Painter card so even the used ones are overpriced.
