Bloodstone Desk Tidy

Comet

The Bloodstone's bright ruby colour is unmistakable on the battlefield, as the owner seems to have infinite vitality and spirit.

This is a single file designed to be used as a storage device for different items you might find in and around a computer desk. The model is just under 16cm in length and 13cm wide.

The slots are designed to store pens/stylus/sd cards and USB sticks. The model could also be used as a cosplay prop due to it's size.

The model was designed and 3D modeled using Solidworks.

Finished Render:

1. To start off the modelling I grabbed a reference image from google and guestimated the measurements. I then created a solid block which followed the image as close as possible.

     2. Modifying the block to fit the image was harder as there is only one view of the Bloodstone. I then patterned the modified block to create two more.

     3. I inserted a solid sphere at the centre of the blocks and cut out a section so you can see more of the orb.

     4. I measured a few of the items around my desk and used the measurements to add slots in the top, the slots are big enough for USB keys or SD cards. I also added a general cavity as there is always random bits which need a home.

     5. To try and reduce cost I cored out as much of the body as I could whilst retaining a decent wall thickness.
