Gameplay Analyst
Psyonix, an independent video game developer located in downtown San Diego, is looking for a qualified Gameplay Analyst to join the analytics team. The Gameplay Analyst will work with fellow team members to manage, support, analyze, and curate in-game analytics from inception to delivery and will play an integral part in optimizing the analytics infrastructure.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain data flow processes
• Deliver and automate reports and insights to internal customers
• Interact with high speed multi-terabyte data systems
• Perform in-depth analyses on a multitude of data sets
• Extract and analyze data to satisfy ad-hoc requests
• Liaise with other departments to determine project needs and requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
• 2+ years SQL experience
• 2+ years of experience in an analytics role
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work/training experience
• Exceptional skill in interfacing between multiple data storage/processing systems and architecting related systems and processes
• Proficiency in data visualization
• Direct experience automating data flows and end customer reporting
• Ability to communicate technical and complex information both written and verbally
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• A passion for diving into data and extracting trends, signals, and value
• Experience addressing multiple projects and stakeholders’ needs concurrently
• Must be approachable with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience
• Knowledge of game industry’s inner workings
• Recent experience with MySql
• Experience working with large and complex datasets
• Familiarity with C# / PHP / Visual Studio / Linux / Version Control
• Working knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and associated infrastructure
