How to create a common center for several pivot points in maya

This is a pretty standard issue, but I couldnt find the real answer on Google, and Im asking here.
I have a model, which is made of several pieces. Now I want to select them all and rotate, move or scale all of them at the same time. Because those pieces have their own pivot centers, they fail to move or rotate in a uniform manner at the sam time. Im in maya. How do you solve this problem? Im sort of frustrated, but I know a few artists out there, would like to know.
