/ WIP / Likeness and anatomy

Hello,

I haven't used Zbrush in ages and I'm trying to get back to sculpting and decided to have a go at likeness study. But right now, I hit the wall, I feel like any changes I make change from one angle, mess up the likeness from the other angle. For example, I played around with the cheek bones, they might look right compared to one ref, but off on the other. I know this is normal but it's really frustrating.

So please comment and critique.

Also, some additional questions:
- What is the best "anchor point", a point in the model you refer to?
I usually stick to nose and refer any distances and proportions to it.
- Should I really dig deep in the anatomy of the model, or the overall likeness is more important, even if inaccurate or stylized?
I tend to get caught up in details, thinking they will make the sculpt more "like" the model or simply more accurate.

My personal goal for now is not the photo-realism with all the surface deformations etc, but rather "simple" sculpture with traditional feeling, like works of James W. Cain, like this.

Thanks.
