Displacement shader will not render in Arnold for Maya 2018!

OK, so I've been stucked with this problem for weeks now. Searched the whole internet and tried a bunch of different settings. But still no progress and it is getting really frustrating I can't seem to solve this "simple" problem.


I've created a detailed sculpt in zbrush and rendered out displacement maps and a lores obj following these guidelines > https://www.cggallery.com/tutorials/displacement/

In Maya 2018 I imported the lo res model and in hypershade I contected the aishader with the hires displacement maps using the same guideline as above (I've also tried a bunch of other settings for this)


My problem is that NO details from the connected displacement map is showing in the render. Sometimes I get the bloated model look but never any fine details from the displacement.

 

What am I missing??

 

I would really appreciate all the help I can get.

 

I attach an image on how the model looks in zbrush, how it renders out in maya and an image of one of the DM maps.
