Hello Markmars, yes, the gtx 1060 is supported by subtance painter. As a rule the painter copes well with every gaming graphics card of the last 4 years as you can see here. https://www.allegorithmic.com/products/tech-specs
An employee recently at Allegorithmic gave me this response in a question pertaining to graphics cards for high polygon models in substance painter.
"Nowadays a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 would make you really comfortable to work with Substance Painter. If you have to go lower, try a 980 or 980 Ti, but avoid the 970 (it design will lead to performance issues)."
You ask here, and you are taking a risk. I doubt that the answer you got was anything less than well-intentioned and most likely correct... but what if it wasn't?
Now you've got a graphics card and app that are not compatible. What to do? Spend more money.
So check the applications OFFICIAL documentation. Don't take unnecessary risk with your money. Then, if Allegorithmic has officially confirmed compatibility and you have issues, you can contact support and get your issue resolved, rather than being told, "Sorry, you got bad advice. Tough luck."
