I will be posting some of my finished/unfinished projects here to track my progression. I am an environment artist but I also like the idea of flirting with character modeling in my free time.
I've been working on this personal project lately. Below are some real-time renders. I used Maya for low-poly base meshes, ZBrush for high-poly, and Substance Painter 2 for textures. Assembly and lighting done in Unity. I had to deviate from the original concept art a little bit, which was created by the amazing Krzysztof Maziarz (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/06OLY). I love how he manages to handle a variety of styles and leaves room for improvization. Hope you like it!
For a critique of the messy room, I'd say that everything is too aligned to their axes. Rotate the bed and desk and stereo a little and it'll feel more natural. For the robot, i'd say the head looks a little long perhaps if it is meant to be humanoid?
