Hey there, been meaning to make a progress thread for a while, but I've decided today's the day.
A brief blurb, Sky Command is an Advanced Games (thesis) Project at USC that I am leading (and the main artist for). The game is set in a grungy sci fi world, where two players steal an airship and have to escape through enemy fire, while not knowing how to pilot it, and suffering from constant breakdowns.
It's some of my first major 3D environment work, as previously I'd only do props here and there. I have to say I've learned a lot in the last year, and I'm pretty proud of how well it's going.
These are some of my favorite bits so far, but I have more on my
Artstation.
Here's the Hangar area that you start the game in, and have to escape.
Some AI Models in the vein of our favorite, ever-present floaty robot friends.
(Low Poly Mesh by Jack Foster. I did the textures and animation.)
Mounted Gun Model
modelThe VERY heavily used Fire Extinguisher. :P
modelAnd this is a low poly version of the ship the players escape on. There's a 10'x10'x10' section in the front that's empty in the model because a bunch of floor and stuff fits in for actual gameplay. There's still a ton of work to go on this, mainly with tweaking sight lines from the helm area, but once that's done I can move on to a more final version.
modelStill lots to do before our exhibition in May, but I think it's manageable!
Feedback's welcome.
