Hey guys!
It's been a while since the last challenge so I thought I'd throw a new one out there.
A lot of great games came out recently that involve some form of combo-based combat (Dragonball FighterZ, Monster Hunter, Bayonetta.. etc) so I thought it'd be good to focus on that. This can be as big or as small as you like, for example, this could be:
- A set of 5 dynamic combat poses
- A cinematic fight scene that focuses on one combo
- A re-imagining of a fight scene from a movie or video game.
- Something not related to fighting but still happens in some sort of stylish combo
Feel free to post your WIP in this thread and again, this is just for funsies so go as crazy or simple as you like!

@joeanimates This is great! The only feedback I would have are a couple of small timing tweaks towards the end of the combo. If you continue working on it and want feedback, post a syncsketch link
@Bansheesix Cool start, looking forward to seeing more of this if you continue working on it!
any feedback is welcome!
Ok that was awesome. Plain and simple.
Dem arcs!
Lil tip, you can hold Shift+Arrow Key(--> / <--) to go frame by frame in Vimeo!
@deanimation For his bat I used a few different techniques. It starts with just a scale of the base model, then I swap out the model for a custom one I made just for the smear. Then I alternate between hiding/showing 1, 2, or 3 at a time. As it spins faster there are a few frames where I animate the vertexes at an extreme smear. Then I animate a squash deformer, after he throws it, to create a more ovular smear.
Thank you for explaining your process. The smears make it look awesomely unique. It's inspired me to try some sword swing with smears. Wish me luck.
