How do I get something similar to Maya Viewport hair previsualization for Ornatrix in the 3dsmax viewport ? I can use a combination of Viewport Shadows and AO + Opacity and Gradient for each hair based on the mapping. But It needs some time to 'update/refine' (viewport will take 10-20 seconds to refine Shadows AO en opacity). And the result is OK, but not as good as the Maya previsualization.

Make sure you set your activeshade renderer to arnold
