DDR3 vs DDR4? Upgrade worth?

So for a good majority of the working day, my rig will be at maximum RAM capacity (16g).
Usually, I'll have ZBrush, Maya, UE4, Substance designer and one or two instances of Substance painter open.
Has anyone got experience using 32gb+? Are there any software limitations?
It's probably worth noting that I've had one or two substance painter issues regarding RAM limits. (Solved them with minor decimations.)
Does it speed things up?
CPU= i7 3770k
Motherboard= P8Z77-V Pro (Not sure this is DDR4 supported)
GPU=980 TI

    At work I have 32gb, at home 24gb.  If you're regularly running zbrush, Maya, UE4, and SP at the same time I would highly recommend getting more than 16gb.  All of those programs use up a decent amount of memory especially if you're working with large files.

    @CrackRockSteady Ye, they tend to get quite large. My music starts freaking out :D. Do you notice any speed changes from 24 to 32?

    That board supports up to 32GB of DDR3, but doesn't support DDR4 (it's very rare for a motherboard to support more then one type of RAM). 32GB would be a nice upgrade and should help quite a bit with multitasking, but keep in mind that ram wont be useful in future PC builds since everything uses DDR4 now.

    It's tough for me so say how much of a difference there is between 24 and 32 because my home machine and work machine vary pretty significantly in other hardware (I have a faster cpu and gpu at home).

    Then again, I generally don't have quite as many things running simultaneously as you are lol.  With that much stuff running my guess is you'll see a decent improvement from 32 vs 24 gb.

    Honestly, I don't know how you manage to have so much open. I have a 8700k, 16GB RAM and a GTX 1060, whenever I have UE4 open and it's compiling shaders for instance my system is fully used by UE4 and I couldn't work on anything else at the same time save maybe write in a notepad document...

    I used to have the same problem with old i5 and 24GB RAM (DDR3). I've just come to term with the fact UE4 is a hog.

    It seems that id have to upgrade a lot in order to make use of DDR4. Perhaps 32gb of DDR3 is the best alternative?

    If you wanted to use DDR4 you'd need a new CPU, motherboard, and of course the RAM itself. On the bright side, an 8700K is about twice as fast as your current CPU in multithreaded tasks.
