Newbie SketchBook Pro Tablet?

Hello everyone! I've been getting really serious about building a quality portfolio. I'm going to start using SketchBook Pro. But I was wondering--for those who have experienced it--what is the best tablet to use? I honestly prefer to use an Ipad (if possible) and port it around with me like pen and paper. I do have a Mac and a Wacom tablet, I'm just wondering how responsive the wacom is with SketchBook?
