Hello fellow users!
I'm taking my final semester of school and want to build a nice portfolio/demo reel by the end of April. I mostly modeled props and environments during my time in school, but what I really want to do is character modeling. I want to take the time and ask for some feedback.

I'm modeling one of the female wolves in this illustration by Olivier Silven.
He is active on other sites, but I came across his work by browsing Artstation and Tumblr :
https://www.artstation.com/oliviersilven
http://oliviersilven.tumblr.com

I'm so happy he is allowing me to model one of his illustrations; I'll try my best to make it look good, for his and my sake!

I think I hit most of the points, but areas like the eyes, head shape, neck, and hands are bothering me. Does anyone else feel the same? If so, what is it about those areas that stick out like a sore thumb? Also point out anything else I need to adjust in order to make the model more accurate to the illustration.

(I'm currently using Zbrush for those who want to know)

Nice work! I like how you handled the face with such a stylized concept.
    My suggestions:
    - Thin out the base of the neck.
    - Instead of a T-pose move her to an A-pose so you can hit landmarks like elbows and shoulders better in the sculpt
    - Same goes for the hand, it can be more relaxed so you can define joints of each finger better(like halfway between what you got and a fist)
    - Exaggerate her leg silhouette even more (you could thin out her thighs in the area just above the knee and keep it the same closer to her waist)

Hey there! You brought up some interesting points:

-I'll make the base of her neck thinner. I didn't realize how thick it was until you pointed it out.

-It's funny that you mentioned the A-pose. I actually made the base model in a relaxed position, but I changed it because it wasn't at a complete 45 degree angle. I'm not exactly sure if the angle of the arms matter for A-posing, but I changed it just in case. Does it have to be at a 45 degree angle?

-The relaxed fingers sound useful; I'll give it a shot.

-I'll thin out the upper legs since it's too thick. I'll also extend the lower legs since I think it's a bit short.

I think my issue is that I apply naturalistic features on the wrong type of characters. What I've learned by reading your critique is that I need to exaggerate her body shape. Thank you for the feedback; Your advice is something I will take into account as I update the model.

I've updated the model after taking feedback from AgelosAp  as well as my teacher.

-I extended the neck and made it thinner at the base
    -Modified her head shape
    -Made her eyes larger
-Made the spacing between her eyes and mouth close together
-Placed the ears closer to her eyes; edited the shape of ears
-changed the palms of the hands slightly
    -made her legs thinner
    -made her limbs longer

    What do you think?

I'm going to start working on the topology as I model in other stuff as I go along.
