hey gang, back with another question.
I've been learning Unreal recently. And I stumbled my way into VFX with Cascade, UE4's particle generator (not sure if i'm saying that correctly.) If you havent tried it, its a LOT of fun. I'd suggest everyone check itout.
My question is, dos anyone have any recommendations, on books, classes, workshops to learn this stuff? i'm going thru the youtube series they have and reverse engineering the effects that arein ithe UE4 work files, but I want to learn faster. And all of the gotcha's Im finding, i'm sure someone else has come across and already solved.
So does anyone have any suggestions on classes, workshops, or books i can read?
I found this class on cg society
http://www.cgsociety.org/training/course/fx-for-gamesI had already taken a class from cg society once a few years ago, and it wasnt great, but if anyone had another experience with this i'd love ot hear it, because it sounds real cool so far.
Replies
1. That class is hosted by cgma, I was mistaken before.
2. It's also full right now so I guess if I want to do that. I'll have to wait till their next "semester"
So with that being said, If anyone has any alternate suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated!
https://www.youtube.com/user/vladderbeest - This guy does great tutorials and even better sped up videos of him making a particle effect.
timevfx.com/c/Resources - feels like a polycount for vfx
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAaWnOJ4iFSQluBVNS2d-Ew - this guy actually gets into using the blueprint to make really specific game effects (game mechanics?) I've used hit tutorials for materials
Hopefully this helps someone whos asking the same questions as me.
