3D visualization Career question?

Hello I'm familiar with 3DS Max,Vray and PShop. Now I'm creating my portfolio for 3D visualization(Interior &Exterior)

Should I learn Auto cad? I now it will be a plus.But the time I spend to learn it, isn't better to get more advanced 

with 3Ds, Vray and PS?  I was just want to find out from someone who got already experience with this Job.

Max seems to be used a lot for visualization these days. I'd recommend learning some Auto Cad though for those times when clients give you those files to work with.

Thank you for the advice!!! 2D or 3D(isn't similar like max's what can do) Auto Cad or both?

I'm a viz artist, and I've never opened AutoCad. It helps to know a bit about how their files are constructed... Layers and such. But 3ds Max takes care of most of that when you import their files.

I'd say focus on materials & lighting & rendering. Photorealism. And especially, learn how traditional photographers work, since viz is mostly emulating an already well-established body of work.

Ha funny story! I'm crossing over from photography as there is so much CG in advertising these days it's kinda foolish not to educate yourself with CG tools. I'm a retoucher and I've had about 6 years on shoots so send me a message if you have questions - although I might return the favour with stupid beginner questions......
