In my case this thing happened when I was 4 yo. I didn't have any difficulties with learning and it's still one of my favourite hobbies.
Do you have a child that you try to teach about reading? I don't think many people kept track of it at that age :P
A recent thing i heard which i don't know if it's valid or not, in one of the skandinavian countries (Sweeden or Norway i think) they do not want parents to teach their kids how to read or about numbers or anything before school because that child will get bored easily at school resulting in ignoring homework, making noise during the class and generally not pay attention, making it a worse student in the long run
Some people put so much emphasis on being a doctor, lawyer or Indian chief; never understood that. In my opinion most doctors are lousy pill dispensing people with a title. While others take each and every word they said as a holy grail.

Have you seen the amount of money they make in some countries? Or how different doctors specialize in different things instead of pharma? The answers to those questions tend to help solidify a medical career as one that is highly desirable to many individuals, if only one to be admired usually.
