Hello!
For my entry, I decided to incorporate the culture from the country I lived in for most of my life. Although I'm Canadian, I grew up in the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago, and I'm in love with its vibrancy and colour; it really is home to me. I thought about some of the major festivals/celebrations of Trinidad, and decided to go with Carnival. Carnival is Trinidad and Tobago's biggest festival, and a lot of other carnivals around the world were fashioned after it, for example, there's Caribana (Canada) Notting Hill Carnival (England) and Miami Carnival (USA). I settled on creating an illustration where Evelynn is a part of the festivities, luring a male masquerader to his death with her beautiful costume and figure. Evelynn was the natural choice for this, as there's even a Trinidadian folklore character that's extremely similar to her story, called the La Diablesse.

Did a concept sketch of the carnival skin idea. I'm working on the La Diablesse concept now, and then I'll decide between the two which one to develop.
I've decided on the carnival skin, mainly because I work very slowly and I don't have time to spend too long on concepts. Here's my line art for my illustration. It's a little crazy with all the confetti but that's what carnival is like lol. Please if anyone has any feedback I'd really appreciate it! I had a bit of trouble with the perspective so if anyone can help I'd love you forever lol
Going to work on greyscale next.
Edit: Oops, forgot her stingers XD I'll add them in later.
Finally done with the greyscale! I'm going to have to look into some different methods to colour because I don't have much more time
I need to clean it up but this is the colours I'm going with I think.
