Hello all!
This is my latest project, the city of free genies.
I found in my archives, the start of a perspective I never used, and since it was on good paper, I didn't want to waste it. The shapes I had there inspired me to create this grandiose Arabic looking city. Along the way, it ended up floating above the clouds, and became the city of free genies
I also noticed that my brain heavily referenced this piece from Ast Ralf:
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Zm3vX (I checked in with him to make sure he did not feel plagiarized, I got the OK)
blablabla blabla...
Critiques I got in the past, is that my pieces feel unfinished, so I have been cleaning up my sketch lines properly (except for far background building here), and working on atmosphere.
One thing I feel, is that I still over render things/don't use lost edges efficiently.
I plan to:
Give a slightly more curvy look to the buildings.
Create more textures twds focal points.
Add stylized clouds graphic on a few more buildings.
Finish the far bg building of course.
Add missing cast shadows.
Repaint the clouds at the btm, I used a cloud brush that looks too realistic for my taste.
I would really appreciate an overall critique
starting to not see right anymore.
Thanks in advance, and cheers to you all!
