Currently, material groups always import into Toolbag as "Default". I do understand that Alembic does not store material information, but it does store material group names at the very least. I have tried this with several different programs (Blender, Lightwave, Maya), and they all produce the same result. Does anyone else get this issue? If so, is there a way around it? My intention was to import via FBX, then import Alembic so that it inherits the FBX surfacing (since most FBX exporters don't support point cache data).

Blender also writes the names to the file, it creates face-sets based on the names of the materials that separate them.
So this would be a piece of feedback: to let Toolbag load Alembic face-set names instead of using 'Default' for all, so it's easier to assign Toolbag materials to them.
