Submission Guidelines

Ready to submit your entry?

 

Great!  Follow these simple steps:
1. Download the submission form and fill one out for each submission.

2. Create a folder for your completed form and creation.  Zip this folder!

3. Click the appropriate category link below to upload your zipped folder.

4. That's it!  Contest closes at 23:59 PST on January 31st, 2018; so make sure to submit before the deadline.

Thank you. Do I have to send the Sign-up sheet right away (and then add the creation later) or can I send the whole Zip folder until the deadline?

The zip file should _contain_ the submission form and they should be submitted together.

I got three questions: 
1.-What do we fill in both "address 1" and "address 2"
2.- The zipped folder should contain the Submission Form and the final piece, right? but Do we submit the process pictures? or are they to remain in the thread here on Polycount?
3.-Can we, should we sign our final pieces?

- Pretty sure that's just two lines for your address, nothing tricky
- Yes, process pictures would be in your thread
- can yes, we don't have any rules against it

Hey @cheeseplus I compressed my PDFs in rar instead of zip. Should I send it in zip format again, or am I good to go?
Zip is going to be best across the board, we're not really worried about saving space with compression but I think folks could figure out RAR (I don't think we'd disqualify that)

Are these forms required to be printed out, manually filled in and re-scanned? Or can I use a PDF editor to fill out the form instead?

When I uploaded my documents I didn't get any confirmation message, instead, Dropbox transferred me to its privacy page. Is it what it's supposed to be? That means that I uploaded my documents?

Edit: Ok, I solved the problem. I'm good.

Do we need to submit PSD, or JPG with stages is enough in zipped folder upload?

@cheeseplus What format do you want these beauty shots to be in?  I have initially saved them as PNG but would you prefer JPG?  I haven't uploaded yet, so I can still change it if needed.

So one of my animations takes course over a distance, would you like the camera to track the animation along or have it from a base height holding still?

Or both, I can do both.

Hi! Is there another platform to upload our work on? Dropbox servers are terribly slow and painful to use for my region. Been trying to upload for the past 5 hours but it keeps interrupting after a few minutes.

@PK89 as I've told others, you need to look at the specific discipline rules in order to determining the format of files to submit - all entries will need to be ZIP files but they might contain different assets depending on the discipline.

Sorry! Is it ok if I resubmit the.ZIP file? I've just submitted it about an hour ago, but then I realised I misread the timezone correctly (I thought it's already 31st January in Pacific time) and I want to fix some things in my illustration first. Is that ok if I submit it again tomorrow?

Hi! So I submitted my entry last night when I was running on no sleep, woke up today and realized I submitted the wrong format. I did an illustration and it’s the wrong dpi and there’s also a .png in there. Is there anyway I can cancel that and resubmit? 

EDIT: I resubmitted with the correct .dpi and file format. I'm really hoping that this is okay.

Are naming conventions important? Would you like us to mark our submissions with our names/usernames/categories/project titles/etc.?

Are the names of the contestants made public? Obviously real information is needed for payment and stuff, but if we don't want our full names made public, instead just a username, is that an option?

Leave a note on the form and we can definitely do this, prior to announce we'll talk with the winner anyway so folks can be reminded then.

Hello! I just made a narrative submission, a minute later I realized there was a typo in it. I re-submitted, same content fixing that only typo. Is that fine? Or will only the first submission the only valid one? 

Also I didn't have winZIP but I did have RAR, used a website to get it zipped and got a ZIP/RAR filetype thing. Hope that's fine!

If there are two files we should be able to see the later one if named the same, also won't hurt to add a note to the submission form but I'm pretty sure we can figure it out. ZIP is the preferred format and is free on all major operating systems but I also think we can probably work around RAR.

Thanks a lot! I did name it the same, however, the second is called "corrected typo". Both were submitted under my same email.
