[Riot Art Contest 2017] Jinx bank robber

Hello guys! Here I am saying goodbye to this year by starting something new!

It will be a splash art of Jinx. It takes place in a wild west city. Jinx and her allies run away from the city after robbing a bank using stagecoach laden with gold. Police troops are chasing them. 
I want to show Jinx as a badass bank robber firing chasers with her minigun/gatling gun in a dynamic exposure.

I'm not sure that I'll make it in time but it's worth a try

I've started collecting referenses for the art. Here are some of them:

Two pose sketches just to catch an idea.
I've already chosen the second one because it suits the character better than just her standing pose(that is pretty common, I think) and works better for the whole composition itself.

   The second stage will be a basic concept art for the girl:

   
I've done several versions of her bandit costume and combined together all the best parts.
As you may see, I've decided to give her a hat. It is not the best idea for this particular in-game character, but I think that the hat will work well for the splash art. Jinx won't wear a hat, it will be shot off by a bullet, that will give more dynamics to the composition. Just an idea, still working on it 

And the color version:


That was a rather tough part. For a long time I couldn't decide what color scheme to choose. On one side we have a muddy-yellow western pallette, on the other - there is Jinx with her bright poisonous colors and crazy costumes.
I've decided to combine dark-tone calm colors with a bright and shiny red one.
I hope that gives understanding of her image as a badass wild west bandit.

Thank you! I just use different layers for lineart, each color and shadows.

She's sitting on the back of a carriage, right ? I wonder how to convey that...maybe motion blur on the background houses/people will do the trick. Maybe tweek the face a bit as well. I liked her insane look on the initial sketch.

Yes, I like her insane look on my previous sketch and I totally forgot about this important detail in this version. I'll definately correct this mistake on my next stages. Motion blur, dust and other effects will also be added in new versions.

This looks amazing ! The idea fit perfectly with Jinx !

I agree with the precedent comments, I liked her insane look more on the first sketch ! It was more Jinx-like to me  
By the way, this shading thumbnail is impressive, looks like a 3D Ambiant Occlusion :O

Really great work, however, the boot on the left is calling so much attention. There is high contrast between the sky and her shoe. And in my opinion, most importantly it has too much detail-too much textures and perfectly sharp edges. I can't stop looking at the boot. One more critique although more minute is her expression is kind of weird like its almost crazy but not quite there yet, and her face is too boy-like. Jinx has a very feminine face, big eyes with eyelashes and an extremely tiny nose(the mouth is perfect.) I think she could use larger eyes with more obvious eyelashes and a slightly smaller nose. Lastly I would raise some of the contrast in the face and around it just to make sure it steals the attention from anything else. This is reaaallly great work and I recognize the skill, these are just my thoughts on how to make it even better. I did a quick paint-over just to see if what I'm saying is true and I do like the results if you want to see it? I'll delete otherwise.

Alrighty, so I just did what I mentioned above, removed detail from the boot and legg to push it back, and increased some of the contrast near the face. And most obviously I enlarged the eyes,iris, pushed down her brow a bit and darkened around her lids to make it look like eyelashes. You have all the creative liberty to do whatever you want though.

I like your version, but I'm not sure about her nose. It is too small and too close to her eyes. Anyway, thank you for your ideas, I'll think of how to use them in my art

As with my previous artwork(Braum) I'm not sure if it's the final version. I will keep thinking what I can do to make this art even better. But right now I think it's...ok
