Fire session for character abilities
And here is synthetic blade component I searched for, something fluid and chemical
And here is how I made Zed's blade sound
I decided to make all ambiences with granular synths. Here I using my synth built in Reaktor to make powerful low rumble. Also a bit of worldizing to make it deeper. The source sound is fire that I recorded earlier. Also there is a shiny sound, that I made from earring tinkling.
Sound of blue fireflies made almost in Razor.
For Zed movements I use something special. The source sound made in Lazerbass, then I shaped it with my granular synth.
Here is how I made sound as Xayah sneaking through the roots.
Two peoples helped me to bring characters to life:
Igor Stam - actor, director and very remarkable person. We recorded all voices during our ADR session for film.
Marta Orlova - painter, singer, artist, musician, potter... And also very worderful person!
She recorded voices on iPhone with Shure MV88 mic because she was 250 km away from me.
Breath of Zed - it's me breathing into a jar of sports nutrition. I used real-time pitch shift to make voices lower and more powerful. I also recorded a few screams for grey ninjas.
