Hello everyone, my name is Sukhmeet Singh and I will be posting the progression for my thought process/WIP here.

A little about me: I graduated from a 3 year animation course, and have animated treadmill, and root. With a deep interest in games, and fascination for action and adventure, I found myself thinking about about what cool things I could create with characters in terms of animation. So, here is what I have to offer.

I hope you enjoy!

God speed!

I will be using the Psylocke rig for this animation. I am thinking of a sneaky assassin type character right now.

Update: After choosing to do a sneaky assassin type character, I have been researching some dual sword fighting techniques and stances. Since I couldn't find a lot of good sneak reference, I have been making my own and also looking up some posing for sneaking with swords/weapons. I found a bunch from google which will be helpful when I get into blocking (I am currently posing the character... I call it Pre-Blocking):

These stances are mostly for the aesthetic of the motion animation. For the movement, I have been analyzing some anim cycles to figure out the body mechanics of sneaky movement. One of those game characters is Valeera from Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm. I play her a lot in the game, and she has two weapons which is perfect for my character. Here is the vid below:

    Blocking will be up soon.

I have some ideas for the second animation, but I haven't fully decided what kind of animation to do. I kind of wanted to try something new so instead of picking the type of animation, I want to look for some reference for two weapon fighting styles and let it decide for me, so to speak. Weird, right? I guess it's a little weird, but hell, it's interesting and I am having fun with it! Here are some videos I have found:

    Double sword kata

Extreme weapons 2015 ATA ESPN Invitational (I love the first, but LOOOVE the second contestant!)

Back to animating for now, thanks for checking in, and I hope you all had a delightful christmas!
