Delay Issues: Cintiq 22HD -> Laptop using a DVI to HDMI converter

Hey Guys,
I'm having slight delay (lag?) issues when I'm connecting my 22HD to my laptop using a DVI to HDMI converter on windows 10. Meaning when I'm drawing, it takes a second or two for the line to catch up with the tip of my pen. It's not a 1:1, or a negligible delay.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before and has resolved it, or is this lag just something I have to live with?
Googling this problem it seems like this has been a mixed bag where some people just deal with the lag, and others say there's no lag at all.
