A post to keep track of work done on my entry for the 2017 Creative Contest, thank you for taking time to look.
Day 1: Deciding a champ to write about. As suggested by my husband, played a game of ARAM and chose the first champ I played as; Morgana. Looking at what little there is to her lore, I have quite a bit to work with here so ideas are flowing.
Progress: Dissecting her and Kayle's lore. Finding out there is very little to work with. There seems to be a few inconsistencies or just blank spots, but it shouldn't matter much for the idea I have settled on. From my interpretation of their lore, after growing in the dark arts Morgana challenges Kayle to a literal battle, but loses to her. I decided to write on Morgana after her loss to Kayle. I'm still unsure if I am following along with what they intended with their lore, but I think it's vague enough for artist license.
Started my topic and officially entering this contest I suppose. Settling into the idea more and being confident in it. Morgana has lost and was thrown from her home planet to land in Runeterra; injured, alone, and very upset. Since her relationship with Kayle seems key to their lore I am focusing on her feelings about facing her and losing to her. Time to work on a first draft.

In trying to portray Morgana, I've focused on her anger at her people and specifically Kayle. She has a lot to be upset about and this takes place directly after challenging Kayle and being defeated, being flung to Runeterrra. She's not weak though, as shown through her dark magic use which I also use to help in further expressing her feelings. I think I just need to brush up some grammar, writing style, and overuse of some words. Need a thesaurus :P
Taking bits and pieces of both drafts, mostly sticking with the first one. Highlighting parts I liked and didn't like. Mostly word usage that I'm tweaking since writing isn't a full time job for me. Any advice would be appreciated, but I know this is a contest too. Just updating the thread for posterity.
