I'm new to 3d modeling and maya, I'm coming along okay. I'm understanding most things, the one thing I'm struggling with though is scale and planning. I can never seem to get my scale right, is it better to plan sizes out and then model from there or just model it by eye and then scale it down to fit the scene? I'm just overall struggling to get things the right size and was wondering if anyone could give any tips or anything. Thanks

Then you can just build stuff based on real world measurements that you either Google or measure yourseld
Having a basic human model lying around to use for comparison is always a big help - you'll find one online I'm sure (if not, make a 180cm high box)
