Sooo I'm thinkng maybe Volibear or Pantheon or Rammus or Nasus or Ivern or Jax or Mordekaiser or Kayle or Dr Mundo or Fizz or Gragas or Amumu or Alistar. Help me.
Go with your gut. Which hero champion excites you the most? Whose personality is more interesting to you? Who do you like to play as? We can't make this decision for you
thanks @sugoilord@mariarthas I really feel like doing one of the more beasty animal types of champs. Something not human. I will see where that vibe takes me.
OK. Ivern and the forest coming alive is just too beautiful to not paint. His story, his actions towards saving life and the important message it carries for all of us, fills me with excitement to paint him. I haven't seen Ivern and Daisy painted together yet either and it's something I really want to see. They have such a great partnership/ collaboration/ relationship/ symbiosis/ dynamic. So I am painting it.
Thanks @H6mm The last 2 are the same composition, just one is a sketch/line work.
I'm glad you said "sneaking" because Daisy does try to be sneaky and Ivern just lets her think she is, even though she is as sneaky as a pile of rocks But she is certainly not about to attack. Hopefully I can portray that she is gently and carefully approaching. I will try do this with colour and light and mood.
Hey man. I think this could be really cool still. I think the composition just needs a bit of tweaking to find the best setup. but I think it certainly has potential. if I have a bit of time tomorrow I will do a little sketch to show u what I mean.
Alex that would be immense thank you. The composition is exactly what is bugging me. And I am having doubts about the moment I am depicting. I made up a little moment where Ivern and Daisy discover a once thought extinct forest creature. A little Lava bird (It has it's own story ). I have tried tweaking the comp but unsuccessful so far. Thanks again.
Your streams are real refreshing and motivating for me so no worries.
Here ya go dude. this is just a sketch and for sure could be tweaked further.
The main idea is to frame the moment between Ivern and the bird, so the camera is closer, the bird is the focus now. Also the main lightsource in the scene is the bird, which again helps to pull focus and make the story about them. We get to see the size of Ivern against the bird and in turn the immense size of Daisy looking through at the back. Daisy is out of focus, helping to sell the scale and the narrow depth of field .
Suggestions to further the story, maybe adding lots of other forest animals, birds, squirrels, insects etc all peering over or sitting on Iverns head, all watching the bird, would strengthen the importance of the moment.
Thats just crazy good thank you. While I was trying to fix and tweak it, you did a complete overhaul of the moment which I was too precious to do. So thank you again. And yeah a complete audience of creatures would definitely crank the moment up like you say. When I was feeling "over this" last night, I also thought there are already about 3 or 4 splash arts of Ivern with a close up and a special animal or magic moment. And I think I have just done the same thing again which is boring... I'm clearly in a hater loop of my idea. Even with your- contest winning- composition improvement! Plus there is no way I can use your awesome composition here as that is too collaborative for me. I need to get this right from the thumbnail/start myself. But I have learnt massively from this, thank you thank you. So you did not waste your time and I owe you 2 beers! None of the above was a dis. I hope you know what I mean.
Hey I understand man. I get where your coming from. I guess the thing to take away is that the " idea" or the story has to be the most important thing that comes across. Every question you ask yourself about composition/lighting/colours/story/etc has to be informed by that Idea/story, let that drive the decisions and you will make Illustrations that tell 1000 words, images that tell the story for the viewer. you got this man!
yeah exactly. That's why I knew my image wasn't as strong as it could be. Subconsciously I was trying to do an Ivern piece that wasn't such a close up comp as all the other Ivern pieces. But depicting such a similar moment as his other splashes, it was a complete failed attempt. Really that close up always works best for that, as you showed again THANKS! Now I want to rage and do a fight scene
Ornn and his raging Lava (Ha, lava again, who knew) elemental busting into raging battle epicness. Taking place in the snow among battle debris and in front of a large unidentifiable (could be a secret weapon could not be, I don't know ) building.
