I've been meaning to ask this a long time ago - I tried to find answers online with no success (maybe I'm not using the right terms?)

The way I've been doing it so far is to lay out my unwrapped uvs in 1 half of the sheet, then use the same method for the second object, but on the lower half, and then recombine the two UVs sheet as one in Photoshop.
That work fine for simple objects, but it can be a nightmare when dealing with more than 2 objects, with complex UVs (or to really optimize space).
There got to be a better method where I could do that directly in Max but I don't know it: anybody that could point me in the right direction would save me a lot of time!
