Hi Everyone!. It is my first entry in a contest like this. I've been a fan of league of legends art for a long time, So I decided to create my own model
of one of my favorite characters Tristana. I will try to achieve cinematic quality similar to the short films produced by Riot. Since it is one of my greatest dreams modeling characters for short films. soo...wish me good luck
First thing to do. Choose the concept. To me Tristana Should look like this concept. I do not know the author. So if you Know it, please tell me.
Then...I collect references for clothes, cloth, ears, etc.
in zbrush. I start with a dynamesh sphere. for proportions I only use the concept and I put it as a spotlight. When I had something that I liked, I just exported it to maya and started modeling props. For good topology I will worry about later. That's the magic of zbrush.
I want her to have strong arms...after all she carries a dam cannon bigger than her. Later I'll try to make hair with xgen and details like that. A
t this point I am very happy with its proportions but if you have any suggestions to make it more attached to the concept please be free to comment.
moving to the cannon. I am modeling it directly in Maya and I hope to pass it to zbrush for small details
There are still many things that I do not know how I'm going to solve. like the gloves and the kind of shield he carries in his hand. But I will be uploading all the updates I make of the model soon. I have some free time these days hopefully for the proyect. soo...
It's all I have for now. Updates I hope soon:). Grettings from Costa Rica!:D

Maybe make her body a little wider from the side profile..I'm not convinced she can actually hold her head up with her current body.
Regardless the sculpt looks great! That's one STRONG start :0
Also....I am working in the boot basemesh.
the weakest part at the moment is the face though, she is looking very butch at the moment, I think your missing a lot of the cute chibi features thats present in the yordles.
Im not sure which artist actually made the concept you have, but I think Kienan Lafferty was responsible or the yordle rework. here is some of his early concept art exploring the re-designs, maybe worth looking into.
@lotet ohh the reference is great!..yeah..i agree...I'm trying to make the face more feline like. I will spend more time in the face
here is a little tweak in the eyes. also working in the glove.
thee nose is way to big, cheekbones to high, chin not pointy enough, and the mouth could be a bit thinner. your also missing the Cupids bow on the upper lip and from the side view I think you need to push the chin back into Z-space a bit, she is suffering a bit from horse face.
I still think there are some issues with the 3/4 and the profile view, could you maybe post or PM me an image of the profile and I can do another paintover if you like?
her chin is way to fat, its basically a double chin
overall lower part of the face is way to extruded, and the connection from chin to neck is undefined. basicly you need to define the jaw bone, and then think of the neck as a sock wrapped around the skeleton if that makes any sense.
The upper lip is usually further out then the lower lip unless you have an under bite. tweaking the lip will also help with the front-view read, since it creates a darker plane on the upper lip which is usually desirable
Good luck!
Pretty happy about this version:). I will comeback to the face later
New version looks a lot better, the 3/4 view face shape is looking much more natural.
