This is bit long. Sorry for the trouble.
(1) First off, Is using Trim Sheet still relevant considering there is an effective and efficient method (i.e. Substance Painter)?
(2) For this question, please refer to this image:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7hq42s0faztk9bm/c4d051_Tile_Trim_UV.png?dl=0Let us say the "Current Render" is my intended output and it resulted to the "Current UV Layout". However, at face value, the "current UV" looks awful considering that (a) it is out of UV bounds (b) it contains overlapping UVs (c) unutilized space in the UV space
My question is am I correct to say that the "current UV" is bad? If so, is there a way to make the "Current UV" be like the "Ideal UV"? I already tried repacking/relayout but the UVs does not carry the textures and at the result it ends up having the trim sheet useless. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you for your time.

Having uvs scaled off the 0-1 space for something like this is standard
