Original Concepts: Hi everyone! This will be my first polycount contest and I am excited to get modeling! I am largely drawing inspiration from ancient Greek architecture and mythology. For the creep den, I was thinking of creating an abandoned temple which the ground has built up around for years. For the turret, an armored night/hunt goddess.
Hi everyone! So I've been exploring some turret options, I've settled upon an armored mage but now figuring out armor and color. Also thinking of changing proportions to make them look more fortified. Any feedback welcome!
Sweet! I like the greek theme idea! My favorite turret concept is the one with the big round shield on the back. Lot of real-estate for some cool greek signage on it. Can't wait to see start to take form!
I've almost completed my sculpt! I'm still playing around with the flags on the back of the shield, I don't know if they will be fabric or more sculptural. Any feedback welcome, thanks!
Might be nice to get some separation between the lower body and the cloak though. They're kind of blending together at the moment. Maybe some bigger folds in the cloak from behind as well. Really sell the fabric look.
Hey everyone! So I've finished up my turret-I haven't even started on my creep den yet - eeck! This was a great learning process for me. There are definitely a few things I would do different if I were to start it again, but I had a lot of fun making it!
Been scrambling to finish my den, finished the sculpt. Gonna add alot of foliage and vines growing to make it look more overgrown as well. Here's an update!
Very nice! The textures look great on both of these. I can't help but notice the high poly count on the tower, though. Seems like you could have gotten away with way fewer edge loops on the statue, especially since you can't make out most of that smooth detail from the profile. Good work, though, keep it up!
Did one last thing and that was to reduce my polygons on my turret, I definitely should have paid closer attention to polycount earlier on but was able to take it down about 2,000 polys without losing any shape. Got everything up on my artstation, here's the link! https://www.artstation.com/jenna_dean

Been working on blocking in a base mesh for the turret to start sculpting!

Now to move on to re-topology and baking.
Thanks, I appreciate it! Working on the den now, pushing like crazy to get it finished.
