Hey all!
So I'm trying to texture a label in Maya using the Arnold 5 substance surface material. The solid black label itself is matte but the white line designs on it need to have a shinier metallic/foil kind of look. I plugged in a specular map (just white and black) but It doesn't seem like it's making a difference. The texture on everything looks the same. Texturing is not my forte, but I gotta do it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It's always helpful to try to isolate your problem- in this case, only plug in your specular/roughness/whatever map so you can see for sure if it's working without other influences.
Your model also needs a scene to reflect, instead of just white. Your bottom reference has a white wall behind it, but black cards on the sides, and behind the camera. And two white area lights on either side of the camera.
It helps to look at reflective surfaces to figure out what the lighting setup was.
Also helps to study lighting setups for commercial photography.

Regarding lighting, that's something I DEFINITELY need to work on so thanks as well for the article
