Hia,
I'm trying to create some overlapped planks, using some plank stamps I made in Designer.
However, when trying to overlap these planks, the normal channels blend together. I found the solution of placing each plank on a separate layer, changing the layer Normal blend mode to replace, and painting a mask... however this method this is a time waster.
Is there a way to select the alpha background of my layer and create a mask from it? - instead of manually painting.
In Photoshop I would CTRL + LMB a layer to select the alpha.
Is there an overall better method for doing what I want to accomplish?
Thank you guys & gals!

Or, as my own solution... I just created an alpha with the same shape as the plank, and used that in the brush, and set the normal map layer blending mode to Normal, instead of combine.
